About The Congress

The Congress recognizes equity, diversity, and inclusion as pillars of excellence which is crucial to maintaining healthy membership and communities.

Our Programs

As a non partisan organization, our focus is on identifying and addressing issues and barriers that are uniquely impacting the Black community.

History of the Foundation

In 1984, the BC chapter of the National Congress of Black Women was formed in Vancouver, BC and by 1992, it became a registered non-profit organization.

Become A Volunteer

NCBWF undertakes recruitment, screening, and training of volunteers who provide services such as community engagement, fundraising, outreach and anti-racism education.

Canada Post today unveiled a special stamp to honour acclaimed Canadian jazz singer Eleanor Collins. The Edmonton-born artist began performing in concert venues and on radio in the 1940s and broke new ground in her genre by becoming a star in television’s early days.
